If you’ve read through this blog you may know my family and I lived in Houston before we moved to Austin. We only lived there three years but made so many wonderful friends and have a lifetime of sweet memories. These sweet people are some of those friends. It was so fun to become parents together (their girl is a little younger than our boy) and now to watch them become parents to a new little guy. They are such a sweet family full of love and warmth. When I meet up with families a year after doing a newborn session I’m always amazed. The growth and development that happens in one year is awe inspiring. It always forces me to reflect on my own two…how they’ve changed and grown in the previous year. What a difference a year makes…you can see this boy’s newborn session here.

Mom asked me to photograph his first birthday cake smash too. This was so fun! And this guy dove right in and made us all laugh.

Several weeks ago I met this family for a maternity session and I met them last week after their baby boy arrived. They waited until his arrival to know if he was a boy or girl so they dubbed him Cranberry in utero. Isn’t he adorable! I adore capturing families in their homes.

One of my favorite families welcomed a new baby boy mid-December. I love spending time with them and am so excited they welcomed a new baby…isn’t he adorable!! This session also marked the beginning of my vacation and today’s blog post marks my return to work. Happy New Year!!

I love shooting in people’s homes and where they live their lives. I must confess I’m always a little nervous because I don’t know quite what I’m getting into in terms of light. When this family told me they had great light in their home I was glad but when I got there I was floored. Their living room was floor to ceiling windows! A dream home for me. :) I loved, loved, loved that when I shot on their front porch light was streaming from the back of their home through their front door. Plus they are absolutely gorgeous, fun, and the sweetest family. Grandma and grandpa even joined in for a bit. I really do have the best clients!!
