From the beginning of my photography journey I vowed I’d never shoot a wedding.  Never say never, right?  Eric and Zeba changed my mind and I’ve loved working with them.  They are so kind, patient, and easy going…beautiful on the inside and outside.  The day of this session the weather was not in our favor.  It rained all day before and was threatening the entire time we were shooting.  If you look closely you can even see a few raindrops.  They rolled with it and were so calm and fun.  Their love and respect for each other is so apparent and I’m so excited about their wedding!  Thanks so much Zeba and Eric for being you and choosing me.  🙂

A while ago I came across a cool new product that allows me to send clients their own app that is basically an album for their iDevices (iPhone/iPad/iTouch) and also works on Android devices.  The hubs and I use these to show off images of our two kids.  Check it out with these screenshots:

When you book a session with me you’ll get one with your blog post images and then another app after you’ve placed an order with the images you selected!

I have such a fun time with this gorgeous mama.  This is her third baby but the first time she’s done maternity images.  It was just me and her and it was such a fun session.  So relaxed and easy.  I love, love, love working with kids but every now and then it’s really nice to have a session like this.

Our boy calls weekend days “stay at home” days.  It feels like we’re rarely at home though.  We’re heading to Houston or we’re going to birthday parties.  This particular weekend we were home and the day started with the boy asked what we were going to do.  Our cars really needed washing so we decided that would be a great family activity.  I also learned my girl (at not quite 2) can pedal her trike!  Child development never ceases to amaze me.

After the carwash and a nap for the girl, we went over to our friends’ Matt and Nancy’s for dinner.  My kids adore these two and their sweet pups, Coco and Trooper.

This is my friend Jenni and her family.  She and I met in Houston when we lived there and have been friends ever since.  We have similar stories.  I miss this family terribly and love spending time with them when we are in Houston.  Jenni and her hubby, Earl, just welcomed another baby boy to their sweet family and I had the privilege to photograph them as a new family of four.  Jenni and Earl…love you guys and I hope you love these!

    First of all, beautiful pictures.

Second of all, all the pictures you take of families with a toddler AND a newborn – the homes look so nice.

Are these women, super-women or do you have some magic editing tool that will remove all my clutter and dust bunnies?

My parents have a garden in their backyard in Mississippi.  They live on a pine tree farm so the garden is pretty big.  We visit every summer in hopes of a bountiful garden.  Last year the boy helped shuck corn.  The rains have been stingy in Mississippi this year so the garden looked a little dead.  The boy and the girl enjoyed picking tomatoes and I’m so glad they get to have this type of experience in the summers.

I had intended for the MS sessions to be mini sessions but wanted to give myself enough time to chat with everyone.  So my 2o minute sessions ended up being an hour a piece.  phew!  We had lots of fun but it exhausting and it was pretty hot.  Mississippi in July…I think next time I’ll do this in the fall.

My friend Sara (another grade/high school friend) lives in California and her kids come visit Mississippi in the summers.  It was so fun meeting them!  They were so fun, smart, cute and spunky!  We had a blast hanging out.
