If you’ve read through this blog you may know my family and I lived in Houston before we moved to Austin. We only lived there three years but made so many wonderful friends and have a lifetime of sweet memories. These sweet people are some of those friends. It was so fun to become parents together (their girl is a little younger than our boy) and now to watch them become parents to a new little guy. They are such a sweet family full of love and warmth. Thanks so much S family…we love you!
Robin and I have been spending time with each other every week. She’s helping me to get in shape and she’s doing a great job. Fun and motivating…a great personal trainer and a great person. Her family and I got together for a shoot a little while back. Aren’t here girls adorable! A big thanks to you Robin!
I love meeting new families and I love meeting new families in places that mean something to them. I met up with the O family in a greenbelt near their home. Mom and little guy spend time there often and it was so fun to explore it with them. They are such a fun and loving family and I can’t wait to meet the new baby very soon.
When I meet up with families a year after doing a newborn session I’m always amazed. The growth and development that happens in one year is awe inspiring. It always forces me to reflect on my own two…how they’ve changed and grown in the previous year. What a difference a year makes…you can see this boy’s newborn session here.
Mom asked me to photograph his first birthday cake smash too. This was so fun! And this guy dove right in and made us all laugh.
phew…it’s been a crazy few weeks. My camera is in the shop, but should be returned to me this week. I’m so excited to get it back. In the meantime I had a session in Houston with a dear friend. This couple was one of the first couples who let me practice on them when I was just starting out…almost 5 years ago! It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. Little E will be 5 soon! I can not wait to capture little brother when he makes his appearance. Also, I could not have done this session without another friend, Erin Smith, who loaned me her camera. What an amazing (and trusting) friend. 🙂 Thanks Erin! If you’re in the Houston area check out her work here.

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful family! Wow!! The little lady is so pretty:)

THANK YOU, CALLIE! They are beautiful. You certainly captured my little ham… Wonder what this next little guy will be like??? We’ll find out soon!
It’s time for my 26 Friday post again! It seems like this year is flying by. 26 Fridays is a group of photographers who are posting images based on a theme every other week this year. We link to each other so be sure to check them out. This week’s theme is look up, look down. When I first thought about this theme I thought no problem…I’ve got this. But when I tried to capture my kids in this way it was difficult. My son is in this phase where he makes funny faces for the camera and he’s very aware of it. My daughter is perpetually in motion so also hard to capture. Then my camera started acting a bit wonky so I had to do this quickly. (My camera is in the shop right now.) So here it is. My girl playing with one of her dolls (the doll is always undressed). She loves to put the baby to sleep on my son’s old nap mat. It always makes me smile when I see this. I love how much she loves on the doll and know she gets that from all the people in her life that love her.
I included the next two because I think they’re cute. I love her concentration in these.
Please continue on to see the other photographer’s in this group. First is Lili Love in the United Kingdom. Here post is here.

I’m sorry your camera is giving you grief, but she’s lovely. The different perspective is fun, makes you realize both how little and how already grown up she is.
-
interesting to have both up/down in one frame. and that tongue out of the mouth is priceless. but little girl with little doll – such a sweet time of simplicity.
-
So precious!I love how you’ve captured looking up, looking down!
-
I love little ones playing with their babies. such treasures. These are so sweet and remind me of many I took of my own at that age. precious!
-
So sweet. We learn so much from little ones. I love the thought of you tenderly looking down as she is tenderly looking down with nurturing eyes!
-
oh she is working so hard to care for her baby! so so sweet!
-
Interesting take on the up and down in each image… love how your crisp and clean edits do not detract from the images. Also liking how the blue wall ties into the blue from the blanket. Beautiful and precious.
I’ve had so much fun photographing new babies recently. I love photographing in families’ homes and capturing their life welcoming a new baby.
-
What is it with all these families with 2 boys? I ABSOLUTELY love toddler boys with their baby brothers – of course, I’m biased. These are beautiful!

These are so sweet! I love the b/w!
It’s another 26 Fridays post. If you’re unfamiliar, a group of photographers are posting every other Friday on a theme. This week’s theme is shadows. Again this was a tough theme for me and now that it’s Thursday evening my mind is racing with ideas for more images with shadows. I had planned something different for this theme but felt very drawn to this image. It represents my girl so much to me right now. She dresses herself most days so the patterns are always mixed, she loves (and I mean LOVES) flip flops, and has just enough hair for a tiny ponytail (I love that the shadow highlights this). This is all her and I adore it all and her. She definitely has my heart.
Please check out the other photographers in my group starting with Ginger Haddock of Fernbird Photography. Her post is here.

I love the scale of the image, and you’re right: the ponytail shadow is awesome! My eyes keep flicking back to the hearts, too, which make a fun element. The image just has “childhood” written all over it.
-
oh my gosh – that cindy loo pontytail shadow…your little one is something else. very ‘little miss’ – i also want to say that as i explored the image, i locked on the shadows of the valentines cards on the door. not only does it date this photo well, those shadows on the door are incredible.
-
SO so cute! This reminds of my youngest at this age! Always had to dress herself and do her own hair! I love the silhouette in every way from her pony tale to her button nose, to her flip flop!! She is a girl on a mission:)
-
So precious! That ponytail shadow is just adorable!
-
I really liked the Valentine shadows too Pamela.
-
the sweetness of her and her shadow melts my heart. and i love the way she is walking with such purpose!
the ponytail says it all!! -
Sweet! Love her little pony tail and the yummy shadow of her on the house. I love that you included all that you did to complete the story. Nice shot!
-
I love lifestyle work and I LOVE this!!!! I love her little ponytail in the shadow. Adorable!!
-
LOVE IT! The pigtails are so cute. Did she notice her shadow?
Several weeks ago I met this family for a maternity session and I met them last week after their baby boy arrived. They waited until his arrival to know if he was a boy or girl so they dubbed him Cranberry in utero. Isn’t he adorable! I adore capturing families in their homes.
It’s time for my 26 Friday post. Every other week a group of photographers and I post images based on a theme. This week’s theme is blurry/out of focus. I had a hard time with this one. I’m so accustomed to working hard for a sharp focus so it was a stretch for me to try to produce blurry images. These images are from my third try and I ended up really loving them. And my kids loved jumping on the bed.
These next two are in focus but I loved them so I couldn’t leave them out. I think this one will go in a frame near my bed. I just love these two.
This one I titled “my view” because she’s usually right under me.
Be sure to continue on with the circle starting with Lerin Photography down in Katy, TX.

I love these Callie! Get job on getting that blur, makes me want to give this theme another go. The focused ones are precious as well and definitely need a frame. (love the bed too!)

I couldn’t help but smile–what kid doesn’t love to jump on a bed! I loved the focused ones too. Great perspective!
-
These images brought an instant smile to my face! Beautiful work!
-
these made me grin as well!
-
These are so fun! Awesome!
-
I didn’t know you had a little girl! Third times a charm! I love these and that nice big room with great light! love your b&w conversion too.
-
these are so fun, love all of them!
-
three times was a definitive charm. these are lovely in their childishness – they emanate all the things that feel like childhood – wild abandon, laughter, silliness, sweetness, and the simplicity of jumping on a bed. oh to be young again.
-
So fun! Love how the blur puts more focus on the jumping.
-
oh my, my!!! I could tell they were having lots of fun jumping on the bed… the first two have fabulous movement. Love all of them in a series the blurry along with the perfectly focused ones.
-
Very cool! How fun are these images?!?! Love them all!
-
these images are so happy! and you can see the connection of the kids, the little one so impressed by what her big brother is doing! so gorgeous and full of joy! so lovely.
Love them! You are amazing. Thank you so much!
