I’m from Mississippi and my parents live there so we visit a few times a year.  One of my oldest, dearest friends lets me photograph her two  amazingly beautiful and fun girls.  I love these girls.  They are so fun, smart, and gorgeous!  Can you believe little B is only two!

    LOVE these pics!!!

I love shooting in the early morning.  It’s the best time of day for pictures in my opinion.  Everyone is fresh and the light is so pretty.  This family came all the way from Dallas!  This was my second time to spend some time with them.  Their last session is here.  This time dad was able to join in on the fun.

  • I love this shoot Callie! Awesome.

My ten on ten this month is a little different.  Since it’s a personal project I took a different slant and captured ten images in ten minutes with my girl.  These are not images I’d normally print or post here but I love these real life moments with her.  She was snacking and got her first taste of Nutella.  She is so proud to stand in her big brother’s chair to eat and this day was very attached to an old cell phone in our toy box.  This set is just so her at this time.  She’s so playful and spunky.  I just can’t get enough of her.  Continue on to the talented Jessica Richter’s blog to see her ten on ten this month.

Last year  I was searching for a family photographer who would capture my family as we are.  I found Bonnie Berry.  She is an amazing photographer.  She captured my family last September and I absolutely loved the images from our session.  I forgot to blog about the session during the fall rush.  I had the privilege of photographing Bonnie’s family this past weekend.  I was a tad nervous because I admire her work so much.  She stated she wanted me to capture them how they are without any pretense.  This was a fun session for me.  I limited the direction I gave and tried to let things unfold as they did.  Thanks so much Bonnie for this opportunity.

  • I LOVE these. I kept thinking you were probably having trouble getting anything good because we were so tired and it was hot and extra crazy with the dogs AND the kids. And all the while you were quietly capturing it all and making great portraits you sly dog : )

  • Callie these are so wonderful! I love that you captured the spirit of the family – I can see the love and fun they have together through these photographs. Beautiful work!

  • I do so love these images…you did such a fantastic job of capturing their connection to each other and I love how they were down to do some water shots!

  • bonnie, your family is beautiful 🙂

My boy sitting down to dinner yesterday.  He was a little under the weather but was still himself all day long.  A day filled with baseball movies and begging to go outside to play catch.  A day filled with telling him he could not have cheese or milk (he had a  little stomach trouble).  A day filled with a sweet boy wanting to cuddle.  I love this kid.  He asks a million questions a day and is ever curious.  He never meets a stranger.  He loves everyone.  He has more energy than anyone else I know and he’s all mine for now.  He’s growing up too quickly and I know one day I’ll look back at these days and wish I could go back just once to spend the day with him.  I love you my boy!

I love your boy too, Callie! He reminds me a lot of my boy 🙂

Isn’t he adorable!  His parents have fallen hard for him and it’s so easy to see why.  He almost makes me miss my kids’  newborn days.  It’s really nice to be able to get my baby fix this way.

  • Callie!!! I went to HS with Keller’s daddy! What a small world. These images are lovely!!

  • […] When I meet up with families a year after doing a newborn session I’m always amazed.  The growth and development that happens in one year is awe inspiring.  It always forces me to reflect on my own two…how they’ve changed and grown in the previous year.  What a difference a year makes…you can see this boy’s newborn session here.
